This guy collects maps.
He carries a list of which maps he already owns.
When he finds a map for sale.
He consults his list.

An Inconvenient Truth

Poor Al.
He's getting crapped on by everyone.
Now if we'd only just listen to him.
Things would be better.

It was a serious conversation

Wolff's Flea Market

I was trying to take his picture.
He stopped me and said " No, like this"

He sells wooden windmills and garden bridges.

Wolff's Flea Market
July 10, 2006 |
He loves to dig through the boxes
He can search a dealers booth
In two minutes flat

Cindy is one of the happiest people I know

He sells office furniture and lamps

He always finds wonderful paintings

For years I've seen him at the flea market
He's always wearing the helmet

Wolff's is right under one of the flight paths at O'Hare.
There's an effect called The Rosemont Pause
You'll be in the middle of a conversation
And you'll have to wait until the plane passes overhead
To finish what you're saying

I was standing in a friends booth at the flea market. He sells general household crapola. A young lady walked up and asked him how much he wanted for some baby powder. He looked at her and said "fifty cents". She bought it, turned the top and poured the powder all over her feet. I decided it would be a good picture and pointed my camera.
"Noooooooo" she screamed while trying to hide her feet.
"What's the matter" I asked her.
"They're all powdery" she said
We stared at each other for a second or two and then she walked off.
Flea markets can be very strange places.

He sells antique advertising and kitch
He always has one thing that he doen't know
What to price it at

He could really play

His father said nothing
But just watched his technique

He's an old school Maxwell Street seller
He brings the good stuff to Kane

He buys musical insrtuments
His knowledge is ledendary

Jeff is a genius
One of the best pickers in Chicago
He has an amazing eye

Steve collects photographs and negatives
And operates a crane

Shakira is always happy

Every Sunday he walks around the flea market asking the dealers
"Do you have any cameras?"
Most people don't know his name
He's just The Camera Man

It always amazes me
How emotional people get
When they're trying to decide
If they should buy something or not

I just met Rudy
He's an intense guy
He sells fake flowers
And office chairs

I don't know who he is
But he's always really happy

If you can't make up your mind
It's always best to get a second opinion

I think he's famous
Or in a really good band

He hosts an cable access show in Indiana
He has the most amazing
Announcer voice you've ever heard

Larry is always driving around town
Looking for the next big score

Mike is a magician
He can fix anything

One of the best antique pickers
In Chicago
He always gets the best stuff
